Jason began his legal career in 1996 at Kemp Smith, LLP, in El Paso where he practiced commercial litigation and insurance defense. He was made a limited equity shareholder at Kemp Smith in 2001. In 2005, Jason ventured out on his own and has since developed and continues to maintain a successful solo legal practice focusing on Residential and Commercial Construction Litigation.

In 2008, Jason was recognized as a Texas Super Lawyers - Rising Star in the area of construction litigation.

Jason has been a certified mediator since 1995, and in 2014 he became President of TAMS. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the El Paso Bar and licensed to practice in Texas and was admitted to practice in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas in 2017.
